Seine Frau sa\u00df neben ihm und die Igelkinder spielten R\u00fcsselball mit einer herunter gefallenen Kirsche. &#8222;Die Menschenkinder haben heute ein Fest gefeiert, es war sehr laut&#8220;, sagte Frau Igel. Auf einmal kam Pieks, das \u00c4lteste der Igelkinder, angelaufen, so schnell ihn seine kurzen Beinchen tragen konnten. &#8222;Mutti, Vati! Auf dem Rasen liegt was!&#8220; Er war ganz aufgeregt. &#8222;Ist es etwas zu essen?&#8220;, fragte die Mutter.\u00a0 &#8222;Es sieht aus wie eine gro\u00dfe Apfelsine, aber ich traue mich nicht n\u00e4her heran,&#8220; antwortete der Igeljunge. &#8222;Apfelsinen wachsen hier nicht&#8220;, sagte die Mutter. &#8222;Am besten Du gehst mal hin und schaust nach, Vati&#8220;.<\/p>\n<p>Auf dem Rasen lag tats\u00e4chlich ein sonderbares Ding. Es war gr\u00f6\u00dfer als der Igelvater selber und manchmal bewegte es sich. Da kam der Nachbar Maulwurf, er wollte etwas Luft schnappen und hatte daf\u00fcr einen wundersch\u00f6nen Erdh\u00fcgel gegraben. &#8222;Das k\u00f6nnte ein Fu\u00dfball sein, ich habe schon \u00f6fter Menschenkinder mit \u00a0einem spielen gesehen&#8220;sagte er . Die Igelkinder wollten gleich alle mit dem Ball spielen. Der Igelvater war traurig, das es nichts zu essen war. Er stupste den Ball mit seinem R\u00fcssel an, da gab es gewaltigen Knall und die gro\u00dfe gelbe Kugel platzte auseinander. Im Nu rollten sich die Igel \u00a0zu einer Kugel zusammen und der Maulwurf verschwand unter der Erde. Luftballons sind eben kein Spielzeug f\u00fcr Igel.
