Heute gr\u00fc\u00dfen euch wieder die Reisenden aus Charleston. Gleich geht es zum Fr\u00fchst\u00fcck. Sicher wollt ihr wissen, was man hier isst. Es gibt Kaffee, Orangensaft und f\u00fcr Kinder kann man nat\u00fcrlich auch Kakao bestellen. Dazu werden immer Riesengl\u00e4ser Wasser mit Eisw\u00fcrfeln serviert.\u00a0 Wasser gibt es \u00fcberall dazu, auch in den Restaurants. Es kostet nichts.<\/p>\n

Das Essen ist anders als bei uns.\u00a0 Man kann sich einen Bagel toasten, ein rundes Br\u00f6tchen mit einem Loch in der Mitte. (Gibt es bei uns auch zu kaufen) und mit Marmelade oder Philadelphia-Wei\u00dfk\u00e4se bestreichen.\u00a0 So machen es Peti und Katrin.<\/p>\n

\"Charleton<\/a><\/p>\n

Die Amerikaner essen anderes.\u00a0 Sie h\u00e4ufen vieles auf dem Teller an; Waffeln, Eierkuchen, Eier mit Speck, Kartoffelecken und einen schwer zu erkennenden Brei, wahrscheinlich etwas mit Erdn\u00fcssen.<\/p>\n

\"Charleston<\/a><\/p>\n

Die Erdnuss ist hier \u00fcberhaupt ein sehr wichtiges Lebensmittel. \u00dcberall gibt es gekochte und ger\u00f6stete und zu allem M\u00f6glichen verarbeitete Erdn\u00fcsse.<\/p>\n

Katrin w\u00fcrde gern mal sehen, wo Erdn\u00fcsse herkommen. Bis jetzt haben wir noch nichts gefunden und der Professor wei\u00df auch nichts.<\/p>\n

Jedenfalls isst ein richtiger Amerikaner ziemlich viel und die meisten Leute sind deshalb auch etwas \u00fcbergewichtig. Uns schmeckt es, obwohl die Auswahl nicht so gro\u00df ist, gut. Der Professor will heute mal von dem merkw\u00fcrdigen Erdnussmus kosten. Oscar, der auf seine Figur achtet, wird Obst essen, das es nat\u00fcrlich auch gibt. Danach machen wir einen Ausflug mit unserem Auto. Die Leute hier sind kaum zu Fu\u00df unterwegs, au\u00dfer nat\u00fcrlich beim Bummel durch die Stadt. Man f\u00e4hrt \u00fcberall hin und Fu\u00dfg\u00e4nger sind auf den Stra\u00dfen au\u00dferhalb der Stadt eine Seltenheit. Katrin kommt das sehr entgegen, ist sie doch auch keine Hobbywanderin, wenngleich sie an den ersten Tagen, als Peti noch nicht da war, sehr viel gelaufen ist. Demn\u00e4chst werden wir euch von Ebbe und Flut erz\u00e4hlen und dann sind wir nat\u00fcrlich auch auf der Jagd nach Krokodilen. Es gr\u00fc\u00dfen euch die Reisenden<\/p>\n

Ich habe meinen schlauen Computer gefragt nach der Herkunft der Erdn\u00fcsse. Sie wachsen wie niedriges Kraut. Die N\u00fcsse sind eigentlich H\u00fclsenfr\u00fcchte und die Fr\u00fcchte sind an den Wurzeln, in der Erde, daher der Name „Erd“n\u00fcsse. Wenn ich richtig geschaut habe, dann werden sie ungef\u00e4hr vor 7000 Jahren in S\u00fcdamerika erw\u00e4hnt. Reicht Dir das Katrin?<\/p>\n
